XPS Pensions Group has appointed Neil Maines as a senior consultant in its investments team.
Maines joins XPS Pensions Group from Jana Investment Advisers and has over 13 years of investment experience advising defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) clients. He brings expertise in scenario analysis, pension scheme funding and modelling, and fiduciary management oversight for DB clients. Commenting on the appointment, XPS Pensions Group head of investment, Ben Gold, said: “We are delighted to welcome Neil, who brings a wealth of fantastic experience in advising DB and DC investment schemes. He will play a key role in helping XPS support our clients through some important challenges.”
Cardano has appointed Guinevere Taylor as head of local government pension scheme (LGPS) relationships.
Before joining Cardano, Taylor spent six years at RBC BlueBay Asset Management, where she worked in distribution with a focus on building awareness and market presence of RBC GAM-UK and later RBC BlueBay Asset Management within the LGPS sector. Before this, she spent four years at Legal & General Investment Management in its LGPS relationships team. Taylor has been an ambassador for the diversity project for the last six years, which works to promote the importance of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the financial services industry.
Royal London Asset Management has announced that Will Nicoll will take over as manager of its fixed income team at the end of 2024, replacing Jonathan Platt.
Nicoll will continue his role as head of private assets alongside taking leadership of the fixed income team, becoming head of fixed income and private assets at the end of 2024 when Platt retires. Platt has worked for the company for nearly 40 years and will continue his role as head of fixed income until his retirement to support Nicoll in his new role and ensure a smooth transition.
